What is concrete segregation?
Segregation is simply seperation. In concrete, it may be defined as the seperation of its contitient materials of heterogeneous mixture leaving non uniform distribution.
It is caused due to different partcle size and unequal specific gravity of materials.It results in weak concrete.
The remedial measures are
1. By correctly proportioning mix
2. Dropping concrete from the height not more than 1m
3. Properly transporting, handling and placing
4. Vibration should not be used for spreading concrete.
